With just under seven weeks until election day, Team Englin continues to fire on all cylinders working to win votes for David and the entire Democratic ticket.
Team Englin did its part today to raise money for the American Red Cross Hurricane 2005 Relief Fund at Alexandria’s Gulf Coast Relief Run, whose sponsors included James Carville and Mary Matalin and the Alexandria City Council. David and Caleb joined Red Cross volunteers staffing the water station and cheering runners while Shayna and the rest of the Team Englin contingent ran in the 5K race through Old Town.
“It was terrific to see so many people running for such an important cause. This kind of race usually takes months to put together, but the Alexandria community stepped up and made it happen in just a couple of weeks. It’s a real testament to the spirit of our community,” said David.
After the race, David and another group of Team Englin volunteers spent several hours knocking on doors and talking with voters throughout the 45th district, sharing David’s strong progressive message.
Later in the evening, David joined Sen. Patsy Ticer, Del. Brian Moran, Del. Adam Ebbin, Councilman Ludwig Gaines, and candidate for sheriff Dana Lawhorne as special guest performers with the Hexagon Players, a local political satire group, to raise money to help the Alexandria Democratic Committee elect state and local Democratic candidates.
