A Vote for Englin

In July, I met David Englin as he canvassed in our neighborhood. It was close to 7 p.m., very hot and extremely humid. He’d already secured the Democratic nomination, and Election Day was still more than 100 days away. Yet he had been out all day, knocking on doors, talking and listing to voters about their concerns.

We spoke for a few minutes about local education issues and what he wants to accomplish in Richmond. I was particularly impressed with his I-Save RX initiative, which would save Virginians money by lowering the cost of prescription drugs.

Englin and his volunteers have knocked on more than 45,000 doors during the campaign. By comparison, aside from a few road signs, his opponent has been largely invisible. With all due respect, we simply cannot afford to have an invisible delegate represent us in Richmond. We need someone with strong, progressive ideas, energy and commitment. I look forward to voting for David Englin on Nov. 8, and encourage all voters in the 45th District to do likewise.
