David joined Senator Patsy Ticer at Maury Elementary School yesterday evening to update members of the Rosemont Citizens Association about the work of the 2007 General Assembly. David shared his views on the transportation negotiations, reiterating the need to find a long-term solution that will protect funds for education, health care, public safety, and environmental protection.
“Thanks to Republican intransigence, the compromise plan the Governor announced this week is unfortunately messy, but it’s a far cry better than the plan that passed the House over my objection a few weeks ago,” said David.
David also updated the group on his own successful legislation, and answered questions on a range of issues, from electricity utilities re-regualtion to improving the integrity of our voting system.

Thank you to everyone who donated to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to sponsor David, Caleb, and the seven other Alexandrians who had their heads shaved yesterday, raising nearly $16,000 for children’s cancer research! Jill Cetina organized the special St. Patrick’s Day event on behalf of her three-year-old daughter, Camille, who has kidney cancer.
“We’re lucky to have people like Jill in our community who have the courage to turn their own pain into action to help others,” said David. “I’m incredibly grateful that she asked me to be part of this, and I’m glad that our shaven heads will help make a difference.”
During moving remarks before the shaving began, Jill shared some of her experiences as the parent of a toddler with cancer and noted that it would take just $25 million for Congress to fully fund children’s cancer research.
