While volunteers packed Campaign Central this evening stuffing envelopes, making phone calls, entering data, and reaching out to thousands of voters, another team of volunteers joined David out knocking on doors and sharing his record of principled, effective leadership with people at their doorsteps.
“I am incredibly blessed to have friends and supporters like you who are willing to put so much into our fight for progress,” said David, thanking all of the volunteers. “Once again, after all this time, new volunteers continue to join us. This is the kind of no-kidding grassroots momentum that will push us to victory on November 6.”

ALEXANDRIA – The Northern Virginia Association of Realtors confirmed today that its political action committee has indeed endorsed Del. David Englin (D-45) for re-election to the House of Delegates on Nov. 6.
“This endorsement is particularly meaningful because my Republican opponent works in the real estate industry,” said Englin. “I have worked closely with the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors on issues effecting homeowners, including efforts to protect certain elderly homeowners from being exploited by unscrupulous sales practices. I look forward to continuing that positive working relationship in the future to address the needs of our community.”
The Northern Virginia Association of Realtors represents more than 13,000 Realtors who carry out a $16 billion real estate industry in a community of over 2 million residents.
ALEXANDRIA – The Virginia Police Benevolent Association, the Tobacco-Free Kids Action Fund, the Virginia Muslim Political Action Committee, and the Virginia National Association of Women each announced separately over the weekend that they endorse Del. David Englin (D-45) for re-election to the House of Delegates on Nov. 6.
“I am deeply honored to accept each of these endorsements, which further demonstrate the breadth of support for my service to the people of the 45th District and the Commonwealth,” said Englin. “The fact that such a diverse set of organizations each announced their endorsements over the same weekend shows not only that our grassroots campaign for the future has the momentum going into the final three weeks of the race, but also that these groups appreciate my record of principled, effective leadership on a wide range of issues.”

“I’m voting for David Englin on November 6. David has proven himself to be a principled, effective legislator whose energetic brand of open and responsive leadership keeps the 45th District moving forward,” said former Governor Mark R. Warner, who lives in Old Town and votes in the 45th District.
The breadth and depth of support for Englin is also demonstrated by the latest fundraising totals, which were announced today. Englin’s campaign raised $33,114.66 raised during the month of September from 174 contributors, posting $43,330.89 cash on hand as of Sept. 30.
“I am blessed with thousands of grassroots supporters from across the 45th District and beyond who are rallying to our fight for progress,” said Englin. “Thanks to them donating time, energy, and money to our cause, I’m confident that we will have what we need to win in November so we can continue to move forward on the issues that matter to our community — issues like affordable housing, education, health care, and the environment”
“My Republican opponent is a wealthy businessman raising massive amounts of money. As we expected, he has been out-raising me and out-spending me — mostly on a slick and deceptive direct mail campaign,” said Englin. “He might even buy himself 10 or 15 percentage points in this race, but I’m confident that, on November 6, the people of the 45th District will show him that he cannot buy a seat in the House of Delegates.”

While David shared an update on the race with supporters at yesterday’s reception at Cafe Salsa, another crew of Team Englin volunteers packed Campaign Central, stuffing enveloped, making phone calls, and doing the grassroots work necessary to reach out to the voters and push David to victory.
“Thank you to all of the hosts and guests, and to all of the volunteers who were back at the house reaching out to voters,” said David. “It’s incredibly humbling to know that we can hold a fundraising
event and a Volunteer Night at the same time and fill both rooms. I was especially moved to see still new volunteers joining our ranks to become part of our fight for progress.”
Join us at Campaign Central (1505 Wayne Street) on Tuesday, October 16 beginning at 6 p.m. for our next Volunteer Night!

David joined fellow members of the Alexandria Regional Council of the United Way at the Alexandria Neighborhood Health Services clinic in Arlandria today to launch the 2007-2008 campaign under the leadership of Regional Council Chairman John Porter and Campaign Chairman Tim Lovain.
Lovain, who is a member of the Alexandria City Council, noted that last year’s campaign raised more than $800,000 to help the less fortunate throughout Alexandria, and he announced that this year’s campaign goal will be to raise at least $900,000.
“United Way is doing good work for people who need a hand throughout our community, and it’s an honor to serve on the Regional Council with other Alexandrians who are so committed to those goals,” said David. “I’m especially pleased that we decided at our recent Regional Council retreat to make affordable housing part of our focus.”
