Shayna, Caleb, and I wish you the very best for this holiday season and for the upcoming new year. As we look to 2008 with great hope for the future, I want to take this opportunity to pay special tribute to the scores of Team Englin grassroots volunteers who inspire me work harder each day as we fight for progress together. From my first moments in elected office, throughout my first term, and during an energetic and succesful re-election campaign, I have been able to stand up and vote strong as your delegate because you have stood with me.
As we worked side by side together, doing the hard grassroots work necessary for progress, I’m reminded of one my favorite quotes from Robert F. Kennedy:
“Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.”
Thank you for your hard work, energy, and support during my first term and for giving hope to so many of our fellow Virginians.
Happy Holidays!
