David dropped by the One Love Community Festival at George Washington Middle School yesterday, where he stopped in to thank the women of the the Northern Virginia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for their work on voter registration and voting rights restoration.
“More than 300,000 Virginians, more than half of whom are African American, cannot vote because of prior felony convictions, even though they’ve otherwise served their time,” noted David. “Only Virginia and Kentucky impose these life sentences, and it’s something I remain committed to changing in Virginia.”
