Police and Deputy Sheriffs endorse Del. David Englin for re-election

Alexandria - The Virginia Coalition of Police and Deputy Sheriffs, which represents state police officers, deputies and local police officers throughout the Commonwealth, announced today that it endorses Del. David Englin (D-45) for re-election to the House of Delegates in this year’s election Nov. 3.

“Delegate Englin’s time in uniform gives him a special understanding of the problems and challenges facing law enforcement professionals and their families,” said Marshall Thielen, President, Fairfax Coalition of Police, Local 5000.  “There are many important issues that face our public safety personnel throughout our state, and we are confident that David will continue helping us address them.  We look forward to working with David when he returns to the House of Delegates.”

“I’m honored to accept the endorsement of the men and women whom we trust to keep our families and our communities safe and secure,” said Englin, also referring to the Virginia Professional Fire Fighters and Paramedics, who endorsed his re-election last week.  “Whether the threat comes from gangs, terrorists, house fires, or natural disasters, we rely on people who are willing to put their own safety on the line to protect us.  They take care of us, and we have a duty to take care of them.”

Delegate David Englin is currently serving his second term in the Virginia House of Delegates, where he represents the 45th District, which includes parts of the City of Alexandria, Fairfax County, and Arlington County.  He faces a Republican challenger in the upcoming Nov. 3 election.
