Richmond - With the following statement, Delegate David Englin (D-45) today announced his legislative package for the 2011 General Assembly session, which begins today:
“This is an ambitious slate of legislation that includes a combination of bold ideas and small steps forward. My top priority this session will be ending the gimmicks the General Assembly used last year to avoid tough choices on the budget, and I have a number of proposals to make government more effective and efficient at serving families and small businesses. I’m also laying out innovative new proposals that create private-sector investment opportunities to expand quality early childhood education and affordable college access where the General Assembly continues failing to make these critical investments. Of course, I am continuing my ongoing fight for progressive tax reform, fair and equal treatment for all Virginians, and to protect the most vulnerable members of our community.”
