April means Earth Day events throughout our community

“I want my son’s generation to be able to breathe clean air, drink clean water, and grow up healthy and strong in a world free from the threat of global warming and destructive climate change,” said David.  “Earth Day is an opportunity to come together throughout our community and rededicate ourselves to protecting our future.”

Earth Day is April 22, and here are some of our community’s Earth Day-related events:

1st Annual Virginia VegWeek
April 18 to April 24
Virginia VegWeek is a week-long campaign to encourage Virginians to explore the many meat-free options at their local restaurants and grocery stores as a way to promote awareness of cruelty to factory-farmed animals and the environmental benefits of adopting a vegetarian diet.  This year, Virginia joins D.C. and Maryland in including VegWeek among its Earth Day celebrations.
