As a leading defender of reproductive freedom in the General Assembly, David was invited to serve as the master of ceremonies for NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia’s first annual Power of Choice reception and awards ceremony at the Arlington Arts Center Saturday. During the event, David joined Tarina Keene, executive director of NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia, in presenting the first Aggie Wolf Defender of Choice Award and the first Outstanding Advocate for Choice Award.
The Aggie Wolf award went to retiring Senator Mary Margaret Whipple, and the Outstanding Advocate award went to Karin Kirchoff, former NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia board chair.
Following the awards and a legislative and electoral update, the audience heard from nationally renowned feminist author and activist Jennifer Baumgardner. She shared insights into the personal stories that motivate women and men who care about defending reproductive freedom.
“Thank you to Jennifer Baumgardner for her powerful perspective, and congratulations to our award winners and to Sasha Bartolf, this evening’s event chair, on such a successful evening,” said David.
